Our Commitment: Manaakitanga and Whakawhanaungatanga

In these challenging times, our volunteering community at Merge Café is more committed than ever to manaakitanga (hospitality, kindness) and whakawhanaungatanga (building relationships). We pledge to care for one another and to build meaningful, enduring, and inclusive relationships that embrace our differences and elevate diverse voices.

Join Us in Celebrating Our Collective Impact

We believe in creating a diverse, inclusive, and connected future. This year’s National Volunteer Week, we invite you to join us in recognising the collective impact of our volunteers. Their selfless service and unwavering dedication are the threads that bind us together, making Merge community stronger and more resilient.

At Merge Café, we see firsthand the incredible difference our volunteers make. Their efforts not only provide healthy meals at affordable prices but also foster a sense of belonging and support for everyone who walks through our doors.

As we celebrate the National Volunteer Week, we at Merge Café are excited to recognise the incredible contributions of our volunteers. This year's theme, ‘Whiria te tangata - weaving the people together’, highlights how volunteering at Merge Café interlaces our lives and strengthens the very essence of our whakapapa.
